Jerry Kennedy was one of the 60’s & 70’s most valuable producers and session players, have contributed to hundreds of hit records on both the pop and county charts. Kennedy was born and raised in Louisiana and moved to Nashville in 1961 at the urging of legendary producer and label executive Shelby Singlegton. Kennedy quickly became one of the most sought after session men in town. He played on hit records by Elvis, Roy Orbison and many others that can
be heard on this playlist.
He was also an amazing talent scout and producer, discovering and signing Roger MIller, Tom T Hall, Jeanie C Riley and others. He continued to produce albums into the 90’s, including the legendary Highwaymen album with Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson. He passed away Feb. 11, 2026.
